![]() The Black Law Students Association at the University of Virginia School of Law offers a scholarship to both high school and undergraduate student essayists who acknowledge and seek to further the values of civil rights activist, Oliver Hill. Jean-Mary Aubourg (Col '13), this year’s scholarship recipient, has exceeded these expectations. Mr. Aubourg not only wrote a well-written and thoughtful essay but he also demonstrated a strong commitment to public service. Additionally, Aubourg also exhibited an understanding of how impactful Oliver Hill was in the pursuit of equality. Mr. Aubourg is a rising senior at the University of Virginia and plans to devote his time to rural development in his native homeland, Haiti. Through Aubourg and future recipients, BLSA hopes to expand the reach of equality and other virtues developed by Oliver Hill.
