Foley is pleased to announce we have enhanced our scholarship program by providing not only financial support, but also employment. Through our new Diversity Fellowship Program, we will award two fellowships to rising second-year J.D. students who have demonstrated a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and the broader community. Each fellowship recipient will be hired for a summer associate position for the summer of 2014 and, upon completion of the summer associate program, will be awarded a $20,000 fellowship*.

Eligibility: Applications will be accepted from rising second-year J.D. students who are enrolled full-time and in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school.

Criteria: Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and the broader community; significant involvement in diversity-related student organizations or community service activities; undergraduate and law school academic achievement; and an interest in employment with Foley.

To Apply: Applications will be accepted beginning February 15, 2013. To submit an application, visit our Career Center and apply for the “2013 Diversity Fellowship” position. Please upload your resume, law school transcript (if available; an unofficial copy is sufficient), and a personal statement that addresses:
Your contribution to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and the broader community
How you plan to promote diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and the broader community
How diversity has influenced your life
Why you should be considered for this fellowship

Personal Statements should be 2,500 words or less and must be submitted by April 13, 2013. Foley is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.

Applications will be evaluated by Foley’s Diversity Fellowship Committee. Fellowship recipients will be announced on August 15, 2013.

* Fellowship awards are taxable; recipients will be required to complete IRS Form W-9.
